Schock Hereford Ranch combines the latest in genetic testing with some of the finest grazing conditions in the world to produce high-quality purebred polled Herefords. All of the bulls and heifers we purchase, raise and breed have been DNA tested for calving ease, weight gain, and soundness. Our animals are raised for ease of handling, are hormone-free, and are fed on high quality, native North Dakota prairie grass and on hay and alfalfa grown in our own fields. Our foundation stock have all been carefully selected for their high EPD numbers and are derived from world class programs like Churchill Cattle Company in Manhattan, Montana.

Our Story

Schock Hereford Ranch is a passion project, owned and operated by Ron Schock and wife, Ann, since 2016 when the Schocks made the leap into breeding cattle. Ron has spent most of his life around cattle with his first real introduction occurring as a teen in his local 4H program where he showed champion Black Angus.

Since that time, Ron hasn't lost his passion for cattle and aspired to have his own herd. His venture into began in Montana and later moved to North Dakota when his operation outgrew the original ranch.

Ten years later, Ron is proud of the thoughtful, methodical approach he's taken with growing his herd, ensuring to invest in top quality stock and building a self sustaining operation.
